Langkawi 3
Pantai Cenang beach at sunset with teh fishermans lights on the sea :) Herro everyone!!! Hope you're all good and enjoying those gale force winds my mother was telling me about!
We are in Langkawi!! My favourite place ever 😊 I came here 4 years ago, Nick has never been but he loved it the second he arrived. I have noticed that its changed quite a bit since I was last here. Theres a few big upmarket hotels popped up and the infamous REGGAE bar is no longer there which I was properly gutted about as it was a great place right on the beach with live bands etc. It still exists but you have to get a bus as it's moved elsewhere. Haven't been yet but planning on it over the weekend. In its place is a little beach bar where you sit on cushions on the ground at little tables with candles etc which is sweet 😊
Got here on Sunday afternoon and checked into our little hut right on the beach! Its pretty basic but amazing to wake up and open your door on a white sand beach with palm trees and hear the sea all night (even though I keep freaking out and thinking there is going to

Holly on the Beach :) be a Tsunami!!! Haha)
Anyhoo. The day after we arrived was ST PATRICKS DAY!! Yes so all of you will know this is my favourite day of the year 😊 love Irish music and booze combined. So we found an Irish bar of all places called Debbies place in Pantai Cenang where we are staying. Fantastic little pub run by an Irish bloke and his Malaysian wife (Debbie) who lost her arm in a bad car crash a couple of years ago but still manages to run a whole pub and do all the cooking etc! Very nice and inspirational woman. We sat down and because it was quite packed a couple sat on the same table as us and we got chatting and it turns out they are from just outside Stanley where I used to live!!! Then the bloke on the table next to us piped up that he was from Durham, near Chester-Le-Street! Northerners get everywhere! Anyway we spent the night drinking with them and chatting away. Really lovely group of people! Was a great night!! And really quite Irish considering we are on the other side of the planet. Turns out we have spent the

Us on Pantai Cenang beach at sunset :) last 3 nights or so meeting up with Joe and Liz etc in the Irish Bar and sharing stories of the good old North East!!! Have had a great laugh with that lot. Really hope to see them again one day after they leave here. And by god can they drink!! They're a fair bit older than us but have been up till 5 or 6 in the morning on it after we've long gone to bed!! LEGENDS!!!
So we've spent the last few days doing the sweet F.A really. Just sitting and sunbathing (although im finding it really hard to just sit and do nothing!! Not that you guys at work will believe me 😉 hahaha) I even went and bought a bucket and spade to *play* with to keep myself occupied a bit.
Second embarassing ourselves in hotels story of the trip... I made all these little 'sand animals' out of the moulds I got with my bucket and spade LOL and I placed them in a nice little circle around the patio table outside our room. I went inside for a bit and left Nick sitting at the table on his own and a couple
came to go in their room which is right next to ours and looked at Nick and thought he was a RIGHT weirdo making all these sand animals ahahaha. They were like 'are you alright??!' Also someone nicked our beach mats from outside the room on our first day here and in my rage I wrote a big sign that said *who nicked our f*&%$#g beach mats!! Get your own! Idiots!* and stuck it to the door and the couple nextdoor saw that and thought we thought it was them hahaah. Poor things having to stay next to us haha 😉
Basically not much else to tell really. Just been sunbathing, eating and drinking beer (oh its a hard life). It is such a beautiful beach where we are with little islands dotted about in the sea. It's amazing watching the sunset over the sea and all the little lights from the squid fishing boats come on one by one untill they look like stars in the sea 😊 very romantic! And there's no one I'd rather be here with than Nick! I'm a very lucky girl!
We're staying here for about 2 or 3 weeks I reckon.
