on the banks of the Mekong...
Above is an actual quote from Patty regarding being 13 time zones away from home. Very true. We made it to Vientiane, the capital of the Lao PDR on Monday. A stranger suggested a guest house to us & we checked it out..... This place is amazing! We are staying in a newly remodeled Colonial French Villa right on the banks of the Mekong River, on the edge of town, for 18 dollars a night. The place is shiny and crystal clean. The view of the Sunrises and Sunsets from our second floor balcony is Stunning. People are friendly and helpfull. Many interesting sights, but We gotta tell you about them when we get home, cus it's time to go & catch another one of those priceless sunsets on the Mekong! With Love, Tommee & Patty

The Mekong River is at a bend in Vientiane, & runs east-west. We caught the sunrise & sunset from our balcony at the villa. They were sublime...sorry the picture can't do it justice
