We left thailand on a little boat to cross a tiny river to laos we could wave over it was that close but, yet worlds apart Huay xai was a strange place gone was the land of smiles we felt we had entered the land of frowns how wrong we were we are a week here now and we love laos the people are that bit shy bit they are an amazing people considering the hardship they have suffered with all the bombs in the 1960s that were dropped on the way back to the usa from vietnam our first epic trip was trying to travel on a road that has yet to be built it was a building site at one stage we had to push the mini van. we should have gone in a patrol but they don't tell you about how bad the road is we only traveled 200km it took 7hrs never again ha ha ha i can laugh now.So far we are having an amazing journey im sure home was like this place is now once, chickens everywhere pigs running about kids in need of clothes playing with sticks and old tyres its a different world. we stayed wih a tribe called kh,mu in the moutains we taught the kids games brought them pens and copies they killed a duck for our dinner and moved out of their hut and gave us their blankets to sleep, but sleep is rare due to the army of roasters that can not tell the time and they blive everywhere we are getting used of that it takes time. we are now in lung prabang its a large town and in about a week we go to vietnam i'll try to download pics but its very slow i promise to download more pics soon maybe when we get to the capital the computers will be faster. chat soon sam and sean
