Today was pretty similar to other days so we decided to change things up and walk a different route. We headed to BunakenVillage and walked along the beach. A local guy stopped to chat. He was originally from Sheffield, but packed up and moved to Manado for the lifestyle. He was very friendly and seemed to be enjoying life.

It doesnt seem to matter when or where we walk, every time we bump into one of the dive guides, Demsy. Today he was on the beach chatting with mates/ family / friends.

People obviously come to Bunaken for a holiday, whether this a diving one or not. It surprises me though how many want everything to be the same as at home. For example, at the resort you can make tea and coffee whenever you like. There is a choice of coffee - Nescafé or local coffee. It is really interesting to see the majority of people choose the familiar yet inferior Nescafé. What a shame that they are missing out on the local treasures and probably not just coffee.
