Parasailing
Parasailing - Up and away!Contrary to what I assumed that Parasailing is another adrenaline-rushing activity, it is not. Rather, it is a very relaxing feat.
I just had my first pay for my first job here in SG. So I want to treat myself and the person who made everything possible - my brother. I wanted to go wakeboarding. There is a cable wake park here in Singapore, but it seems they cater to the more advanced riders, or for my case, better swimmers. I just chanced upon this site
cable-ski in Batam. It's just an hour away by boat and they are beginner-friendly. I tried to book us a package but they're full. Instead, we just went there with no plans. I just wanna check out the place if it's okay so I can book earlier next time or get my lessons from there.
When we arrived at Waterfront city, we don't know where we were going, we walked a bit but didn't find the way. So we went back to the ferry terminal and hitched a ride to Holiday Inn Resort. We got some free welcome drinks from the hotel although we were not guests. We checked out the restos and
Boarders
Even if you don't get to do some wakeboarding, watching is quite fun already. settled for the one near the pool to eat out brunch. After, we left to go the cable park and the resort drivers were offering as another free ride. Such kind people. But we decided to just walk.
The cable park is alright but I've been to a much better one before. It is not as big and cool as
camsurwatersportscomplex. Mostly there are newbies trying the sport. This is a good place to start to learn wakeboarding. Also, the vibe there is pretty to close to what we have back home.
Afterwards, we checked out the Harris hotel right across the street. We stumbled upon an outdoor pub that was showing Rugby. They got some flags, and I get to see me represented there. Also, they offer a couple of water activities. Not keen on getting wet, we opted to try Parasailing. As I said, this came as a surprise to me. I think of it as another adrenaline-pumping ativity. But really, it's only the thought of it that freaks you out. Once you get to be up there, it is one of the most relaxing things I've done. I got my 10 minutes of peace. Amazing!
Brunch
Large portions @ Holiday Inn Resort I'm like up there flying and the wind was just a gentle feel on my skin. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Then, it was time to leave and we took a cab to Batam Center to take the ferry back to Singapore. In Batam, you get to take another ferry from a different port for the same price. I just have another field day as I get to shop. Everything is so cheap. Considering the fact that I've never been out of Singapore the past 3 months. Panic shopping attack! There I ruined my budget again.
Today is another blessed day. I am thankful for my free welcome drink, the sumptuous food, being able to watch some wakeboarding action(my new sport), try parasailing for the first time, shop away, and just get to hang out with my brother.
