We have now arrived back in Makassar, Sulawesi.

We spent the last 6 weeks on the Maluku islands, including Lease Islands, Banda Islands and the Kei Islands. Most of the time things were pretty basic and laid back especially Kei Islands where we rented a room in a 'villa' right on the beach.

We have been travelling around on the infamous Indonesian planes, ferries and boats, some journeys were eventful, the language barrier being a challenge at times but we made it, we can now speak quite a few phrases, enough to get by on.

There has been very little Internet, which is why I've not written too often, it is very hot in Makassar especially in this Internet cafe so I am not writing much right now. We will be home in just over a week and I will catch up with all the news then. Also once again the computer cannot take photos so again they will have to wait to.

Last night we checked into a hotel in Makassar that actually had Air-con, a flush toilet, hot shower and clean white sheets, luxury!!
We are spending a day enjoying the facilities and resting before heading off to Tana Toraja, some tribal mountain villages a 10-hour bus ride north of Makassar.

We should be in Kuala Lumpur on 27th/28th February for our flight home to Manchester.

The end!
Oh no! These are the worst parts of travel blogs! Enjoy Tana Toraja and be sure to get a guide and go to a funeral service. We heard they were really good, but we missed it as we flew over it, being somewhat "flashpackers" this last summer! Talk to you soon! Love, Sharon xxx

1 week left
Hello to you both, I have followed your travels with much interest over the last few months, it has been my ray of sunshine in a wet, cold and snowy Manchester. I will miss seeing an interesting blog in my mail box sandwiched between all the boring work emails! It sounds like it has really been the trip of a lifetime and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of your photos. Have a lovely last week and a good journey back. Stan - Abraham Moss still misses you! LX

lots more!
Hi Lucy, great to hear from you, don't worry, although we will soon be home there are still lots of blogs left for us to do. As the internet is so slow in most of the places we have been, we are going to update everything with more detail and photos and republish. So don't worry you'll still be getting messages for some time yet! I'll try and get in to see you all soon, Stan xx
