Hi everyone,
We are on the Gili Island's and I think it is my favourite place I have been so far on my trip. Its is absolutly amazing...
So picking up from my last blog, we got the night train to Kuala Lumpa, Me and James didn't sleep that well, so was shagged when got to Kuala Lumpa. We got to the hostel at 7:30am and the nice people at the hostel let me sleep in the janitor room, where there was a bed as I was poorly. The hostel was really really nice, really clean and just a really cool place. Once I had some sleep I felt a little better again. We spent 2 nights and 2 full days in Kuala Lumpa. Im not going to write that much as I was ill with tonsilitous, so I didn't really do anything at all, apart from relax and read! I walked out with Zac and James on the 2nd day to see the 2 big towers, which I put some photos on facebook. That evening we walked out to the sky bar for a drink, which is opposite the towers on the 30th floor and we also got
some really good pics from there. Kuala Lumpa seemed really nice and was a bit of a shame I didn't do much, but was just glad to feel a bit better by the time we flew to Bali on Saturday!
We got the bus to the airport and the flight took about 3 hours. We got to Bali and managed to find some accomodation, which was about 8 quid a night. We are on a proper budget now, so nothing to fancy and pretty basic. On the Saturday night we went out for a little while and had a wander around. Its quite a lively place, basically its where all the Australians go on holiday. So the same as Benidorm for us brits! We watched both tennis semi finals from queens, which was good.
On Sunday we spent the day chilling on the beach. The waves were quite big and people were surfing, so spent my time reading and watching people do that. In the evening we went for some food and then went to watch the tennis final, which was rained off. We watched a bit of the grand prix, but it was also raining. Zac and
James stayed out till the very very early hours to watch the England u21's play football, but I went to bed as was tired.
On Monday we again spent the day on the beach, reading, but there was less surfers as the waves were not as big. I Went back to the doctors on Bali, as still was not feeling 100% and he gave me some more medicine to take for 2 days, which im pleased to say did the trick and feel normal again. Tonsilitous had all gone but had some really bad pains that wouldn't go away for 4/5 days, so thought it best to get checked over. We went out and had some Mexican food which was well nice and then we went and watched Muarry in the tennis final for the evening. We also booked our boat to the Gili Islands, which we were getting in the morning. We all got to bed early, as had a very early pick up by bus at 6am the next day!
We got up ok for the bus and all fell asleep. It took about 1.5 hours to get to where we were getting the ferry from.
Once we got on the ferry, me and Zac went straight to sleep. I woke up after a few hours but Zac slept for the whole 5 hour journey. Me and James chilled out on the top deck and took some photo's, the sea was well choppy so made it quite a fun trip. Well we thought it was, haha. When we got to the next big Island we took another bus for about an hour to another small port where we got a very small boat to the Gili Island where we were staying. This was really really choppy, prob just as bad as on Ko Phi Phi. There was about 30 people crammed into a well small boat, was quite an interesting crossing. When we got to Gili T (can't remember the name, but everybody calls it Gili T) we set about finding some accomodation. A well sound guy took us to his bungalow's and we got 2, for about 14 quid. Absolute bargin, works out at under a fiver each. Me and Zac are sharing and James has one to himself! We sat and had a few drinks and I taught the boys some new card games,
which we played for a few hours. Was good fun!
This Island is defo my favourite place so far. Its so so nice, really good vibe and proper nice beach and sea. We went out and had some food in the evening last night and went to the full moon party that as on for a bit. Was ok, but nobody was dancing, just sat on the beach, so we didn't stay out massively late. Today we have spent the day chilling on the beach. We have just been for food again, which was spot on. We went to the same place and had pizza, again, is really really nice, so went back for more. We just watched a film in our room on Zac's DVD player and just came for a walk out before bed. We decided to go on the Internet, so thought I would write my next installment.
Haha, for the first time in my life im lost for words. Don't really know what to write much, when just chilling on the beach. Weather is amazing, so thats really good! Think we are going to go snorkeling at some point in the next few days
and we are going to get bikes out and explore. The Island is not massive, so we can easy get round on bikes.
Hope everybody is well...
Love you all
