Becak Ride in Solo
Tourist Experience in the Old City of Solo We drove up to Solo, the closest city to Yogyakarta, to explore the vibrant culture and traditional activities of Indonesia.
With its preserved Javanese character and less westernized atmosphere compared to other cities in the country, Solo is a great destination for all types of tourists.
We visited a few Batik shops, including the Batik museum, which showcased a wide variety of Batik from different cultural influences and periods.
We also took a 'becak' (trishaw) ride through the old city, giving us a unique insight into the history of the area.
Finally, we spent an hour at Kraton Surakarta Hadiningrat, a palace built in 1745 by Pakubuwono II. The palace was full of antiques and gave us a glimpse into the past.
All in all, Solo was an amazing experience and a great way to explore the culture of Indonesia.
