Over four years ago when my wife and I were deciding on which countries to visit on our trip through South East Asia, she asked what about indonesia?! I dismissed it quite quickly mainly cause I probably thought it was just full of Australians and I didn't want to be that token Australian in Bali. And now look at us, four years later and we're having our wedding ceremony in the beautiful and gorgeous island of Bali in Indonesia!
This was only the beginning of what is to be an exciting and wonderful honeymoon lasting three months.
We had been eagerly counting down the days and finally we found ourselves relaxing poolside in a nice little villa and trying to acclimatise to hot weather.
Within the next few days we had our wedding food tasting, only four days till the day, no big deal! I had my bucks which involved a great session of surfing and dinner on the beach. Thanks to the boys for a great day!

After some pretty special time with family and friends we had the sad goodbyes and made our way to Ubud.
We tagged along with Rich and Rikki to where they were staying. From here we could wind down and we spent the next day relaxing with some nice views from our room.
The next day we made it in to town which appeared nice but quite catered to the tourists. I'm sure Eat Pray Love helped it's popularity!
Ubud was nice from what we saw but if we had more time we would have liked to visit the surrounds.
After a few days rest, we set off for a bus to Padengbai for the Gili Islands to officially start the honeymoon!

My Impressions of Bali so far we're mixed but mainly good. I found the areas of Seminyak, kuta etc to be only tourist focused. Can a place so touristy be an authentic experience of that country? Each to their own I guess. It was great to experience the surf and beach dining. However we did enjoy being away from those areas where the feeling of the countryside allows you to unwind. We found the people extremely nice. An island theme of resorts and plenty of places to see and activities to sink your teeth in to.
