We sunbathed by the pool then the beach, until lunchtime then went on our half day Bali Tour. We visited a Batic factory, the royal Taman Ayun temple in Mengwi (built in 1624) and the holy monkey forest near Sangeh. We saw lots of baby monkeys, real cute, but had to be careful as the adults monkeys did jump up on onto people’s shoulders expecting to be fed, and we were warned they may bite. We enjoyed beautiful views of picturesque rice terraces, and large plantations growing vanilla, chocolate, coffee, cloves. We even ventured across a rice paddie field, it was very muddy and after the walk, the guide informed us cobras did lurk around these type of fields (he said this with a big grin across his face). The tour ended at famous Tanah Lot.
