The Puri Lukisan Museum is the oldest art museum in Ubud. It's mission is to preserve, develop and document modern-traditional Balinese art. The museum is home to the finest collection of modern, traditional Balinese painting and wood carvings on the island, spanning from 1930-1945. Gusti Nyoman Lempad (1862-1978); Anak Agung Gde Sobrat (1919-1992); Gusti Made Deblog (1910-1968) are primary artistis. Founder was Tjokonda Gde Agung Sukawati, plus two foreign artists, Rudolf Bonnet and Walter Spies.
The grounds are beautifully maintained, with a lovely lotus pond and statue. Three buildings contain art and the forth building is a cafe serving tea and cappicuno..........
With this blog being short on words, I thought I'd like to end with the amazing 'lotus' flower, which is sacred and protected in Bali. They are so beautiful not to share.......There are many lotus gardens on Bali, at parks, museum's, behind local restaurants, in and around spas and private villas. They are always breathtaking to look at. Please scroll down if you would like to see all photos!
