On our way from Agra we stopped at a city built by Emperor Akbar and swiftly abandoned. Today, it's a ghost town with well-preserved Mughal architecture.

The best way to get up to the fort on the hill is by elephant, particularly nice when they're made up in such dazzling colors.

These curious sculptures actually form an astronomical observatory used to track heavenly bodies to an astonishing degree of accuracy.

The complex was the pet project of one of Jaipur's maharajas. You can see me crouching in this one.

A series of Hindu temples in a secluded valley with freshwater springs. Note the menacing monkey.

A close-up of two of the monkeys that occupy this temple complex in large numbers. You can hardly resent their presence as one of the temples is dedicated to the monkey god.
