Rice is niceRice is niceRice is nice

Lots of options...as long as it's rice!
After talking to some people, it turns out my hotel is actually in a nice area. I never would have known if someone hadn't told me. I went to a few brand name stores around the corner, and on the way I saw an ox with it's horns painted bright yellow pulling a cart with two people riding in it. Also saw a four year old fixing a motorcycle engine on the sidewalk. The store that was recommended to me was perfect, called M K Retailers. Part mini whole foods on the first floor, then part Ikea housewares on the upper three floors. Found some good stuff, check out the pictures. Also went in a clothing store and picked up a nice shirt for about $20. The brand name stuff is not super cheap here, just a little less expensive.

Since then I've just been relaxing in the room, trying to recharge. Flying to Chennai in the morning and Amanda arrives tomorrow night, close to midnight. She's a little nervous about traveling so far away from home but I'll be there to meet her at the airport.

This was a fairly quiet street with the shopping on it. The Puma store was down the block! Unfortunately I still can't afford anything, even in Rupees
