Could honestly say it snowed in Denmark from NYE to Easter - was fed up of it I can tell ya. So Goa was especially great but also because it has no noticeable big insects (but did see loads a dolphins & baba ones, elephants, lizards, frogs, bats, ants, dogs, cats, cows & sea snakes) AND it has proper gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous vege food ( we are vegetarian if u hadn't guessed by that), every single meal was fabulous, and shopping was great, ahem. Think of the nicest people/race you know and double it for Indian's. And the weather is hot hot hot. Thankfully Tourists weren't that cool where we were but it is end of season, we did see some 'too cool for school' ones at a trendy beach bar at the 'must go to' Anjuna market though. All the beach parties were bloody Trance music so we avoided them. Ended up having good fun in a 'guilty pleasures' type 70/80's disco called Vanilla with mostly Indian clinetele where, as C. wryly puts, they partied like it was 1979. And also went to a proper club called Mambo's which was good. And another one called 10 Downing street which probably is cool but that's cause it has great air conditioning if you ask me! There are some amazing beachs but we didn't have time to check them all out this time. Did go to a very interesting Spice plantation, hindu temples & catholic churches in old Goa though (Goa was ruled by Portugese til 1987). And it's so cheap..... Will defo be going back.
