Millennium park is loated on the eastern bank of Huguli river. It is near BBD bagh bus stop. It is not very far from howrah bridge (1.5 kms). One may like to walk down from howrah bridge to this place. You can also visit this place from howrah by ferry (boats/ cruise) too. Boat fair is very cheap (rs 10). There are two parts of Millennium park, stretching to two different sides, north and south. At the south side the park ends near Babu ghat.

The entry fee to millennium park is very nominal, i.e., just 5/-. When you go to one part (either northern or southern) the gate keeper tears off half of the ticket and gives you the rest half. When you visit the other part of the park you have to show that other half of the ticket. The second gate keeper will keep that other half of the ticket (to ensure that you are not reusing the ticket).

The main attraction of the millenium park is the view of river huguli (which ofcourse you can view from other places). There is also a ferry ghat near The park. Huge boats shuttle to howra and back. The fair is very less, as I said, less than rs 10. However ferry ghat is external to Millenium park. You don't need to buy millenium park ticket to go to ferry ghat. The view of boat from Millenium park is as below.
The trees and plantation in the park are not so much. You can see some benches for sitting. The riverside is made attractive by good fencing and a series of light posts. Howrah bridge is clearly visible from everywhere in the park.

With river view, trees and sitting arrangements, the park becomes suitable for everybody to spend time. There is also a few open air restaurants for fast foods. I saw this place is very popular for the loving couples. You can see hundreds of couples sitting cozy to each other. Long ago (20 years back) I had seen such cozy couples in Eden garden which has recently (probably) shifted to Millennium park.

By and large, Millennium park is a beautiful place and you can spend hours in it without trouble and boredom. Hence, I would say it is more interesting for locals than outside tourists because outside tourists will not have enough time to spend here to enjoy the beauty of the place.

After visiting Millennium park we went to Eden garden, which is close to millennium park. Eden garden is just an walking distance from this place. We also visited other interesting places in Kolkata like Belur Math, Dakhineswar Kali, Birla Mandir, Victoria Memorial etc. which I am putting in other blogs. You can see some more pictures of Millennium park in my google+ album below.
