Nainital was our first stop in India. After driving for more than 8 hours in the scorching heat of Uttar Pradesh state, we arrived in the cool Himalayan climate of Nainital. Here 10 Tibetan monks showed their generosity by offering us chai and biscuits and telling us stories about Dalai Lama and Tibet. We left the monastery with very warm feeling towards them, a Buddhist calendar and a pamphlet about an imprisoned Tibetan in China.

These friendly kids would run several hundred meters after us to wave 'hi' until we took a picture with them, and then they would continue to joyously run after us and wave 'goodbye' for another couple of hundred meeters
