Second day in Tanjore

We began the day with a visit to the large Brihadeshwar temple to the wife of Shiva which was never completed or consecrated so not used as an active temple - therefore much less busy. Still a wonderful site and we were all blessed by a temple elephant. Also visited the Palace Museum where the most exciting thing was a huge bees nest under the eves. Then we went on to a small village where we watched the lost wax technique of bronze making. Finally back to our hotel on the river which is our favorite so far. We watch a local dance troupe in the evening.
