Wow, its bloody hot here!
I am so pleased we decided to fight the angry mob and change our flights to Chennai, it is sooooooo good down here.
MESSAGE FOR SAM - YES PLEASE CAN WE HAVE THOSE CONTACT NUMBERS? thank you xxxxx
I can't use MSN as my password has a character we can't get up on the Indian keyboards!
Yesterday we ventured into Chennai Central Zone and talk about overload of sensory perceptions! Smells, sounds, sights, a cacophony of everythingness all pushed into small spaces! There was so much happening that I can't remember anything apart from smiling and feeling happy.
I am a bit fed up of Pervy men though. Jade went to change some money yesterday at a small (tiny!) bank and I was invited to sit down to wait, as soon as I sat down there was a man feeling my boobs so I pushed him aside and glared... a proper Pollywotsit angry glare... we then went to use the phone and when it wouldnt ring out he sat next to me and again started pushing against my boobs... he got the "Im getting more than angry" glare then! Today Jade
has had her boobs squeezed by a man on the beach - why do they do it? Don't they realise how nasty and intimidating it is?
I remember the driver dropping us off at a crazy junction with an endless stream of traffic; it took us five minutes to decide which way to venture then about another 10 to cross the road! We got sneaky, we decided to stick to a local and cross just behind them and we are safe - I think! haha, was so funny.
I have been trying to get an adaptor for my plug so I can recharge my camera (I left the other in Delhi in our rush to leave them maddening hoards of people!) - we went in to a department store in Chennai, first Indian one I have been in and their way of shopping is so different to ours. We chose our charger at the counter, then went to another counter to have the item checked and stamped, then to another counter to get a payment receipt and then a fourth counter to finally pay and be given the bag. Customer service was 2nd to none though, greeted at
Reading a Map
This was a map of bus routes, we wanted to get to Mamallapuram, itneresting! the door and helped with our shopping - perfect and so happy!
jJade is loving the food here and I have a few photos of the looks of surprise when what she ordered arrives; it looks stunning!
Today we travelled to Mallupuram, south of Chennai; started on a local state bus, great experience but we hadn't a clue where the bus was going so a great adventure, we thought at one bit it was a trick bus and we were going round and round in circles!
Got here safely, found a room straight away - gorgeous and sooooooo cheap; went on the beach and paddled - I had to do the English tourist bit and rolled my trousers up - haha, what I site (remind me to delete those pictures from Jades Camera!). We saw people catching crabs (the seafood type, if you dont mind!), fishermen, cows on the beach.... bliss...
We are just chilling for a bit, then going exploring - to the postoffice that refused to post Kays letter last year, can you remember that Kay?
Anyway, Summary, Having a fantastic time 😊
Love to you all, Polly - Wotsit xxxx
