Udaipur

We arrived in Udaipur and stayed in an old hotel. It was quite wonderful with a four poster bed and marble everywhere, we even had our own dressing room as well as marble bathroom. We enjoyed the lake and seeing the Palace where Octopussy was filmed but found the city very touristy and very much built off the back of the film. The prices were inflated and there was not a lot to do there once you had taken a boat ride on the lake. The people were friendly like everywhere you go in India, it just was not our favourite place. We did however get our first taste of Western cooking by finding a wonderful restaurant in the backstreets, just nice to not have a curry for once!!!
