Kristian Bertel is a photographer who ventured India back in 2008. It was a driven wanderlust and curiosity that led him to what he was photographing. And he's still traveling and exploring as much as he has done since he first traveled to India. The photograph displayed in this blog post is taken in Jaisalmer, also known as the Golden City, and the city is located in India in the state of Rajasthan. The golden city Jaisalmer was founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D. It was taken name Jaisalmer from Jaisal, which was the founder king and Meru, named after the Jaisalmer fort, which is situated on the trikut hill.

Jaisalmer's ancient history
Jaisalmer has ancient history linked with its development as a trading center. It is among the major touristic attrections in the Rajasthan. Marvels of Beautiful culture and harsh climate conditions. The city with fort made by yellow sand stones will immediately command anyone's attraction here.

I love exploring other cultures. I am fascinated by the fact that we are all human, but at the same time separates us from each other in so many ways. I do not think there is anything that can be more important in life than to see the diversity of cultures, geography and landscape as found in the world. It takes a lifetime to see everything.

Cultural exploring in India
The photographer is focusing on humanity and concerns about life is what drives him to explore and examine people and cultures. Photography is about wandering, exploring, human stories, and unusual, serendipitous moments that make an interesting comment about life. And it is the curiosity which lies at the bottom as the great source of inspiration.

O verall, I am inspired by curiosity. Seeing new things inspires. Seeing these different cultures for the first time inspires. This is what I would comment as a photographer. This is what I want to document. And not least, remember. As a photographer I want to capture life as it plays out in front of me.
