Elephant Ride at Amber Fort
Bumpy ride to get to the Amber Fort care of these elephants
Amber Fort is our first stop for the day. Our tour guide, included in the over-all tour package we got from Visit Beyond, asked us if we wanted to take the Elephant Ride to get to the fort, or to simply walk towards it. Though not really excited with the elephant ride as we’ve done it several times before, we chose that option as it was included anyway in our tour package.
Amber Fort Elephant Ride
The queue to ride these elephants was ridiculously long. Our tour guide said that we should have started our tour early to avoid the long lines. Oh, well. We’re here and we’re in line, what else can we do?
It took us a long time before we could get our turn to ride the elephants. It was hot and humid during this time and hawkers were all over pestering us to buy their goods.
When it was our turn, we were told to pair ourselves up. Our guide said that he would meet us when we reach the Jaleb Chowk, or the open courtyard where the tourists were dropped off.
