Well last night/early morning wasn't great. The lightening was nice though. Got up and showered for 8am. Was a nice morning and we enjoyed breakfast up on the roof of the tower before heading off at 9am. The car I was in was nice - even had seatbelts!! which is the first time since arriving - well first time to have both belts and plugs together.

Felt a bit ill with tiredness and the heat, and Sarah was in the other jeep with the water so by the time we got to the Amber Fort at Jaipur I was really thirsty. But after some water and a Limeca soft drink I felt a lot better. The Amber fort was very interesting and we again had a good guide. It had a particularly nice mirror room in the winter palace.

From here we went to the hotel Diggi Palace, which is very nice and has good grounds to lounge in and comfortable rooms (a rarity these days). Also can get laundry done since here two nights. We had an orientation then had a few hours before we had to meet up at Rajmandir cinema. We wandered the bazar, bought a

few things then went to the cinema - nipped into McDonald's for a snack and a coffee before the film (first McDonald's of the trip). Sarah had a cup thrown at her by a wee girl when we were in the rickshaw which was horrible - had to wipe off her arm when we got out.

The cinema was beautiful and popcorn cheap at Rs20 - just a small but very good and got some more at intermission. The film was not a typical Bollywood like with big wedding or lots of singing and dancing - it was a fantasy film called Drona . Entertaining but quite odd and jumpy from one thing to another totally different. It kept reminding me of other films - especially Lord of the Rings - there was one guy that was really just Gandalf. Was also a little bit Indiana Jones, little bit Lion King, bit Aladdin, bit Mary Poppins, and a bit Wizard of Oz - the midgets were fun and loved the ninja nun at the start! It had lots of dancing western people which I didn't expect. The atmosphere was great and people were clapping and cheering at bits -

was packed! A really fun experience. Since it was all in Hindi we just made up stuff for what was going on.

Headed straight back to the hotel afterwards since so so tired, hoping for a good sleep tonight.

General thoughts for today
