Moved on to Jaipur, the city of Victory, a supposedly chaotic and congested place although we found it to have a relaxed and lively vibe to it. Maybe Delhi has us chaos proof. The city, apart from being famous for its red painted walls and buildings, is also famous for kite flying. Nearly every rooftop had a kid flying a kite from it. The city itself is made up of long streets lined with bazaars divided into specialties such as hardware, spices and so on. We spent the first day exploring the bazaars and the city palace which turned out to be very disappointing. However, our second day we explored the Amber fort (or Amer meaning high) and the Jaigarh fort where we saw the largest wheeled cannon in the world!!!!. Later when returning to the hotel we caught up in the Muslim festival of Magha Mela where local kids roped us into beating their drums along with them, I couldn't keep the rhythm but Karen was pretty cool.
