After visiting Delhi and Agra, Bundi was a refreshing break away from the chaos, the annoying touts, rickshaw drivers and the mass levels of tourism. Instead we would describe Bundi as a smallish town (for India that is) with a lot of charm and a warm friendliness about it but still retaining that vibrant alive feel that we love about India. Colours of Bundi
I can't get over how different the colours of the town are compared to when we were there in late January. Our experience was of a dry, dusty town with yellow light and cool temperatures... I would love to see it this green, but without the overflowing drains :(

Colours of Bundi
Such a contrast with the changing seasons hey. Lots of rain when we were there although mainly in the evening so it didn't really slow us down much and it also provided some relief from the intense heat. For us, India was the most gruelling country in terms of the heat and that was not even its hottest time of the year (If you go during a similar time of year just be prepared to sweat ALOT). Flicked through your pictures again and I admire how you captured Bundi in terms of everyday life, people's smiles and the little intricacies. Brought back lovely memories.

Huge palace well

Well, well, well
These wells are so amazing! I love the patterns of the steps leading into them though I imagine now, they are perfect for breeding mosquitoes. The town also sounds so lovely with its colorful, somewhat peaceful alleyways, and of the friendly people--such a contrast to your Delhi experience. I was falling in love with the place until the day of the overflowing sewers, which I imagine could give you a nasty infection had you open cuts or blisters on your feet. I'm afraid I would have just stayed in bed reading. As usual, the food looks massively yummy!

Huge palace well

well well well.
You would probably like Bundi it was a nice place. The alleyways had a lovely charm about them. Certainly worth a stop after Agra. If you are considering going and want to avoid being covered in sewage like us ?just avoid travel in august/sept ?

Palace view from the Fort

Bundi Palace
Looks serene and calm but bustle no doubt beyond or below. Yet you describe a town without frenetic madness and disorder. Great find.
