India & Nepal 1986

In 1986 zijn we met Cross Country Travels naar India en Nepal gereist.
Toen was India nog echt arm en Nepal alleen voor de Nepalezen,

Met de bus via Dehli, Agra, Jaipur naar Varanassi.
Van Varanassi naar Katmandue met het vliegtuig.
Agra/ Jaipur met het Rode Fort en de Taj Mahal
Dehli met het moderne en oude deel en het Paleis
Varanassi met de Ganges, veel armoe..

In Nepal hebben we een trek rond de Annapurna gelopen. Met behulp van dragers en een keukenploeg die zelfs een appeltaart voor ons bakten.
Helaas was het vaak bewolkt met soms motregen, zodat we de Himalayaketen niet vaak zagen. Ook sliepen we een nacht in een hutje met zij 4'n omdat de tenten te nat waren.
's Nachts zagen we de Himalaya wel prachtig blauw afsteken tegen de donkere lucht.
In 2010 zagen we de Himalayaketen wel heel goed, maar schrokken van de chaos en drukte en smog in Nepal.

Varanassi with the Ganges, a lot of poverty ..

In Nepal we trek around the Annapurna walked one. Using a kitchen crew and porters that even a baked apple pie for us.
Unfortunately it was often cloudy with occasional drizzle, so we rarely saw the Himalayan chain. Also one night we slept in a cabana because they 4'n tents were wet.
At night we saw the Himalayas it stand out beautifully against the dark blue sky.
In 2010 we saw the Himalayan chain very well, but terrified of the chaos and crowds and smog in Nepal.
