My parents came for a visit in October. Their trip, sadly, started off my taking me to the hospital. (I guess thats what moms are for, demanding a doctors visit even if you say your fine, but clearly you are not.) My first (and knock on wood only) trip to the hospital here in Delhi was an adventure. Via our companies health system I called a local number and talked to a doctor who got me an appointment with a physician at the best Delhi hospital. My symptoms were 5 days with no appetite and a 101 degree fever. Some head pain....all over blah feeling. I had done some research and decided I had Dengue fever...nobody believed me. My mom came in with me to the doctor and she examined my skin found a rash that ... read more

Namastay! Finally I am in India, and so ecstatic to be here. I arrived after more then 24 hours of traveling and only a few hours of snatched sleep in KL airport. I arrived in Delhi at 9.30pm and on Ghandi's birthday, which is a holiday in India. It seemed that the whole of Delhi was in celebration mode, and there was a party in the street below my hotel room that went on into the early hours. I spent a gorgous few hours mesmirised by the spectacle below, far too excited to sleep. My first full day in India today, and what a day it has been. I just got back to my hotel at 9.30pm after an action packed day. After a great walk into the thick of it all, I found the Delhi ... read more

Hmm...have mixed feelings about it ... I had my plane from Okecie in Warsaw @ 6:00am. Already at the airport I have met a tour group going for 3 weeks trip to India & Nepal. Cool at least I will have somebody to talk to on the plane. Quick connection in Milan and we get on our plane to Delhi , which was another 7 hours away. On the plane I had a window seat next to one middle age Indian guy , with who I talked to get some informations about India(he was from Jaipur). Like alwyas while on planes I tried to fall asleep..succesfuly. But.. I woke up when all passangers where leaving the plane already, so I grab my stuff quick and run towards exit doors. 30 July, 2007 - On the bus from Jaipur to Agra There is a boy, young and strong, red band of cloth wrapped round his head like a samurai. And like a samurai he shouts the snack he sells with eyes smiling strong as a man but only seriousness from his lips. It smells good here, at this rest stop, the stench of urine masked by the lemon and spice of this young boys living. He is the same to me as the flock of parakeets swinging in the cornfields a while back. We are all the same, smelling of urine or lemon spice. We all have beating hearts, we all a striving to live. * * * How can I convey to you my Indian experience? We have all been desensitized by the multitude of ... read more

Chapitre 1 : Comment s’agripper 10 nov. 2006 Me voilà à Delhi. Enfin.... Le vol s’est bien passé. 17.5heures de vol, avec 2 escales. J’avais vraiment hâte d’arriver. Interminable bordel. Ça lui prendra 20 minutes nous ... read more

Currently Watching Kal Ho Na Ho DVD 2004 By Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta Sooo.... We're here! Angel's internet hasn't been working but we hooked up the ol' laptop and voila! el interwebo! It's like 3:00am or something ridiculous at home, but it's a little after 1:00 in the afternoon on Monday here. We're about 9.5 hours ahead on this side of the world. Arrived safely after a long flight on Friday night. Angel and her dad picked us up at the airport - we got special treatment b/c her dad works there. Ha! Everyone looked pretty confused when they took us out of the normal line. Have slept here 3 nights and are finally getting over the jetlag. Went out shopping the other day with Angel and Dids and her mom. We ... read more

Namaste everyone. Well, here I am in Delhi, India. Let me tell you the road here from Kathmandu was none too smooth. I’m sending this once again through my ever-trustworthy friend Bob (who I’m sure has lots of time on his hands to do me these favours now that he’s a new daddy). I managed to check my e-mail messages this morning on the most ancient computer I think I’ve ever used (my old Commodore 64 excluded). I used a DOS-based web-browser to check my hotmail account which actually worked out surprisingly well although a bit time-consuming. Last I wrote I was in Pokhara, Nepal recovering from a trek in the Himalayan mountains. My recovery diet consisted of lots of beer and rum and several games of pool and darts. Although it proved difficult I managed ... read more
