Sorry I haven't updated in a while, this weekend was a bit crazy and I wasn't in my room much except to sleep. We finally have a room with internet connection in it, so I will be updating more frequently from here on out. I'll pretty much be updating you on small things that happen during the week, but mostly the weekend. All I do during the week is teach, and hang out in the office before a nice dinner and bed. Not as thrilling as one would imagine for being in India. But, I'm here to train, not to be a roving reporter; so on to my update! After seeing how crazy the traffic was here, I had to question why I never saw an accident, then it hit me. Quite litterally actually. Well not ... read more

Sorry I haven't updated in a little while, it was rough the middle of last week. I'm going to leave it just saying Wednesday and Thursday I was close to death. OK, maybe not death, but it is worse than any hangover or flu I've ever had. On the upside, I got to drink straight up mango juice today and it is freakin delicious. I don't feel so bad though, everyone here has their bout with the plague. So, what has exactly been going on over here? Training for the most part. We have been going to dinner on the weeknights for the most part, but have been slowing down on the dinners b/c of everyone dealing with the plague. Speaking of training, it's still going very well. I am getting a lot accomplished even though ... read more

No one said ours was going to be into 10 dgeree temperatures with wind and traffic in our faces. We happened to mix up our gate, rather than being dropped off at Gate 2, we proceeded to 3, and ended up walking about 4 city blocks in in the freezing cold weaving our way through traffic to our correct gate. But enough of my complaining; we got to ride in business class. This also gave us access to the business lounge, which ... well it wasn't much to look at, but we got free drinks out of it. Pat and I took the liberty of being snobbish with our business "elite" status. Pushing commoners out of the way, scoffing at the peons who had to sit in coach. Ok, so we weren't that bad, but it ... read more

few travel journals because few travels!!! still in pune...surprised, huh?? gently and softly peeling down more layers and creating abundantly authentic juicy, loving space. long, full days of meditation, sharing, swimming, learning, dancing and sweating and even ping-pong oh, and of course hugging and laughing. i have a cozy room in a clean, modest flat shared with sweet fernanda from mexico. it's nice to have my own kitchen and clean bathroom shared with one other and a giant tree towering outside my window. the birds sing different tunes and rise a bit earlier, i can recall the first time i heard these songs 6 years ago and felt so touched by the vast differences of the sounds...i am still touched even if at 5:00 in the morning they blend in with rickshaws and motorbikes. i forgot ... read more

after approximately 17 or 18 hours of travel i arrive safely in mumbai. i managed to sleep the majority of the way since i slept mere hours for the few nights prior to my departure. i thought i had pre-arranged an airport pick-up to a luxury hotel room for my first night as i was arriving after 11 pm and knew i would be rather exhausted and wanting some creature comforts. with time in vienna in between flights i checked my email to discover that this reservation had been cancelled due to overbooking. so thus the indian experience has truly begun....arriving and landing was actually quick with only small lines through customs and baggage awaiting me. there was a "hotel booking" kiosk still open and we found a hotel 10 minutes from the airport in the ... read more

We just got our first semester exam results. Passed. We guys wanted to celebrate by going on a one day trip. Our college party manager Mr. Nishant planned out a trip to Murud janjira. The problem is twofold. One is that we need people to go with and second is to book a bus to reach there. Well after persuading fellow Yumbeeyeaas, we got a group of 16. We also booked a van (I am lying. we haven't booked yet!!) . After booking the van, now the group is split into two. One wants to go on a overnight journey. the second wants to start early in the morning. The first group argues that we can see the morning sunrise( despite the fact that we are on the west coast and the sun rises in the ... read more

My adventure is now almost complete and I am spending my last afternoon in our Indian office meeting colleagues who I have worked with in the past. Mumbai (Bombay) is clearly expanding with towering apartment blocks spreading out in all directions. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived in Pune by the more comfortable climate but then I was reminded that I have moved from near the Equator up to the Tropic of Capricorn. My friend and colleague Sanjay took me on a whirlwind tour in Maharashtra and he rose to the challenge when I asked to see the ‘real’ India. We went into the countryside and visited his brother’s home and pediatric hospital, and then we went to a college where I had an interactive session with some students. It was refreshing how enthusiastic these ... read more

Enfin, une discussion intelligente ... read more

The blog is back by popular demand, I got so many emails from people missing the Blog while I took a vacation. I got lots of pictures to share. Valarie arrived Saturday night, November 18 at 10:30 pm from Zurich. Roshan and Dhyana drove me to Mumbai, which turned out to be about a 3 1/2 hour trip. We also took Shrikant's sister to the airport, she is a Japanese Translator and was leaving for Toyko. The trip was short because we were all laughing about Shrkiant's antics as a kid. We did see monkeys on the side of the expressway waiting for travelers to throw them food. Sorry no pics of monkey's you cannot stop on the expressway. Once we picked up Valarie we took another 3 1/2 hour trip home. Roshan may not like ... read more
