Just a really quick note to say we're safe in Mumbai and getting a 33 hour train to Calcutta tonight.
I read somewhere if you're in Mumbai for 2 days you'll hate it, if your here for 2 years you'll love it. Can't say if the second part is right, but the first is.
It's not a traveler's town, just a sprawling mass of people, dirty building, beeping cars and hot sun. Even the lonely planet struggles to think of better things to do than drink in expensive club and shop in markets. Hey ho, we're looking forward to moving north and seeing the himalayas and seeing 'real India'
