Fort walls
From Agra we headed south to Gwalior. The fort in Gwalior is unique because much of its decorative tile work is still intact. Infact bright turquoise tiles line the entire outter fort wall and decorate the buildings with in the fort. Man Singh Palace (a palace within the fort) is decorated with yellow ducks, elephants and tigers. While the outside seems cheery enough the inside is recessed 2 floors underground and while it was originally designed to keep royals cool in the hot weather, it was converted to a prison by the Mughal's!

Super creepy down there! and a far contrast to the ducks out front!

Our original plan form here was to head south to Goa and get some sun... We were waitlisted for a train from Gwalior to Madgaon... we gambled and lost. We didn't get a seat on the train despite being only 6th in line (it is common to see waitlists over 300). So we set about a whole new plan. Also Gunnar got had gotten sick in Agra (engagement seems to agree with him!) but a few days later he was getting a bit worse. So we stayed in Gwalior and took short, easy
