Last night in Varkala we had the best thunder and lightening storm ever. It lasted for hours with big bolts of lightening and loud cracks of thunder and a very refreshing heavy downpour of rain! For the first time in 3 weeks I have felt cool. Hooray! It has been sweltering hot around 38-40 degrees with the evenings cooling to about 33, Humidity is high as we are right next to the water. So why have we stayed so long you may ask? Well the beach has been a blast with many afternoons spent bodysurfing. It is a very relaxed atmosphere where one can just kick back. Varkala is a definite European getaway spot and we have met people from all over the world.

Yesterday we went to visit the local temple which is in full festive swing with a celebration that lasts ten days. I enjoyed hanging out and listening to the live music being sung by a couple of sweet elders of the community. They were cute to watch.

Later in the evening when we went to dinner at the sunrise restaurant a family of 30+ were there for dinner. The little boy aged 2 1/2 spoke perfect english and was a definite highlight. He sent me lots of flying kisses it was really cute. Imagine being that young and knowing 2 languages.

This morning we went to yoga class and it was hard not to laugh as the guy was very serious but said so many funny things unknowingly. Like turn your foot clockwise, now turn it anti-clockwise. That was the one that stuck in my head. Some things get jumbled in translation to english I have noticed again and again like the menu says sandwitch or snaocks! There everywhere and while I joke I do give eternal thanks that some sweet soul has taken the time to translate as ordering would be much more difficult.

Sunrise and sunsets have been a blessing! So sad were leaving this bliss and I am excited to be heading out on another adventure.

Tomorrow we leave Varkala in the afternoon and head to Trivandrum where we will catch a flight on the 4th to Delhi.
