2 boring days of walking in the desolate Zanskar valley towards Padum.

We're slowly coming into contact with "civilization".

We're about halfway of our trek now. After the Chorten's sprinkled valley, we hit the village of Karcha with one of the most impressive gompa's we have seen. I mean not so much architecturally but the energy was out of this world!

The day after we went to Padum the capital of Zanskar. The first cars and trucks again. Here we'll have to say goodby to Stantzin, he's going back to his home town. And he was lucky enough to find a truck to bring him halfway. But we had to "manually" load the donkeys onto the truck.

We'll have to start to look for horses or donkeys again, but first a rest day...
