Truly a remarkable event. Bill and Shiva had climbed many steps to visit one of the many monasteries in Kathmandu. I stayed behind with my cough and watched monkeys and dogs and people.

From there, we walked to the Save the World office. I don't know what we expected, but this is what we got.

First, an older gentleman showed up, introduced as the current vice-president. The president is a woman who was lecturing at the college and could not join us. Then, a younger man came, the treasurer. Then, yet another man showed up. They brought in ramen noodles for a snack. Then, the treasurer showed us the beads that he makes from paper (like the Uganda women make). He explained that he sold these necklaces to raise funds for Save the World.

Of course, by that time, we were aware that we should buy some product, and of course, we realized that a "contribution" was more appopropriate. A very successful fund-raising event.
