Perfect day?
Just the sun strength you need for cooking your own skin Well unashamedly we did nothing in these last few days. We managed to get some good sunbathing, ate quite a lot, had more henna done, Laura had a wax- just lots of general pampering and preening. Goa has a real hippy feel about it, there´s nothing to do but relax and chill out in a hammock. I had the best prawns ever there.
On the second day we were sunbathing from 12 until 5pm- I was liberally applying the sun cream...every half an hour- determined to be bronzed, not burnt. About 5pm we left the beach because we were both feeling ´hot´. I got into the shower and I was a complete lobster. Burnt to a crisp where my bikini had been. I had been dousing myself alright- dousing myself in Factor 15- not 30 which I thought I had brought!
The next day we thought it sensible to not go mental and just sit on the beach under a parasol. Nature had other plans- Delhi belly got us. Need I say more? We were bed bound in a heat box that was our cabin. Plus my ´little sunburn´ was in fact nearing third degree burns (not one to

Home of the best prawns ever! be dramatic) and Laura was whipping out the Sudocrem for me. Those final 2 days were sheer hell. Don´t forget it was a shared bathroom and everyone was sat outside having some beers, playing cards and chatting whilst me and Laura were to-ing an fro-ing with the loo roll trying to be polite whilst dripping with sweat and my body resembling a melting candy cane.
We put it down the fresh orange juice that we were necking down each day- it´s made with half oranges and half water- with horrendous results!
There were 2 little anecdotes that we forgot to mention; first one was when we went into a shop and I was speaking to the man about what Indian symbols mean good luck. He said ´Luck? You´re saying it all wrong, you pronounce it ´Lack´...doesn´t he know we speak properly in Manchester?? The other one was when Laura was bartering hard for a taxi and the man said ´Where you from? You´re not English- English people just pay the price I say´. Laura was like, ´Yeah actually I´m Welsh and we like to get the best price we can!´
On our last day we left Goa
to headed to Delhi. We had a 5 hour wait there so we got out our blankets and settled down for a nice sleep on the airport floor. We got on the flight from Delhi to Kuwait. Just a 2 hour wait at the most boring airport in the world, then we excitedly got on the flight from Kuwait to London Heathrow.
We arrived back about 2.30pm and got a taxi straight to our hotel where Dan and Martin were waiting for us, as was the comfy bed, the huge walk-in shower, the clean water, the sauna, room service and Britain´s Biggest Loser.
Those 12 hours were bliss!
