211 stairs and counting!
So, we've spent the last three days exploring Hong Kong and find ourselves pleasantly surprised at how much we've enjoyed it! It's easily one of the easiest cities to get around via public transit that either of us has experienced in our travels. Definitely lots of boat travel with ferries etc. They have an excellent pre-paid card (octupus) that can be used for most forms of public transit (other than taxis) and can be re-charged easily. Any remaining balance can be refunded before you leave as well-so charge that thing up and explore!! Some of the highlights were: checking out a little fishing community on Lama island, taking a cruise through Victoria harbour on one of the last remaining authentic wooden sailing "junks" in HK, taking a bus up to the peak mall high above the city at night and being mesmerized by the neon cityscape below(really something to see!), shopping in the RIDICULOUSLY huge and maze-like harbour city centre, watching the nightly lightshow on the city skyscrapers, and just wandering around the backstreets of Kowloon and taking in the sights, sounds, and flavours as well as wandering around the night markets until 1:30 a.m!! Today we wandered around some more, visited

Check it out--cool eh?!
a temple, ate some excellent noodles, and then went out of town a bit on the subway and then train to the AWESOME 10 000 Buddhas monastery! We really enjoyed this! It's a steep walk up 400 steps of a "rainforesty"(sure it's a word!) path lined with golden buddhas, each unique with different faces, poses etc.! Tres cool! The temples at the top are in an idyllic location surrounded by trees. We spent most of the afternoon there and if anyone is interested I'm sure that G can show you a photo of any one of the 10 000 buddhas(good thing we brought spare camera batteries-lol!)! We had some tea before heading back down(which G had issues with as she found the zero sugar thing a problem-have to head back to Morocco or India for some syrupy tea!) and ran into a pack of cute monkeys of all ages on the way! Well, with some regret (we could definitely spend another week in HK) we're heading to Macau tonight SANS our bikes-Air Canada promises that they'll deliver them to Macau by tomorrow a.m-will keep you posted!!

Oh pls look for some info on inland road from Tibet to Nepal if possible, I am thinking a move when spring coming. Keep warm and healthy.
