It rained here last night but it was all finished by the time we woke. After a late breakfast we organized ourselves and caught a hotel shuttle into the town of Yangshuo. The population of Yangshuo is only 300,000, so quite a change from the millions of Xian, Chengdu and Beijing!
This area is surrounded by karst peaks, winding rivers and beautiful scenery.
We wandered through different areas of the town before stopping for some lunch at a small local cafe. Unfortunately, it has been a real struggle to find good food in many of the places we have visited in China.
Then we found a local supermarket to buy a few snack foods to enjoy later. They had some weird types of potatoes chips - spicey hot beef, cucumber, BBQ chicken, etc. Many items in the store have no english and we have no idea what they are. We do not know if they are savory or sweet or some dried up fish or chicken parts!
Back at our hotel we rested inside for awhile as it is very hot outside. We later took a shuttle back into Yangshuo and enjoyed a very delicious meal at an Indian restaurant.
