Today we went to Hong Kong Disneyland, although it was just mum and me as they were all really tired from the plane.
We caught the underground from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsuen Wan, from Lai King to Sunny Bay and from there we caught the Disneyland train to Disneyland. The Disneyland train was very easily detected by the bright blue colour and the Mickey Mouse shaped windows. Inside the train was the same, the seats were a darker blue, and looked more like a lounge than a train-chair, the things you hold when standing up, that helps you keep your balance was Mickey Mouse shaped also and in each carriage there were four statues of different Disney characters. The ones closest to us were Tinkerbell and Mickey. The train station was just like any other, crowded and full of steps.
Out of the train station we really felt like we were in Disneyland the characters on different flags all the way up to a pond that also had many characters around it but the best one was Mickey Mouse surfing on the water that whales blow-up (I have no idea what it's called) We bought our tickets and waited for
8.30. Mum got the timing out an hour so we arrived an hour earlier than planned. When we got in we went straight to where the rides were but they didn't open until 10am so we went back and got photos with Minnie and Mickey, then went on rides. The rides were really pretty bad. They were all aimed at 3 year-olds, or so it seemed. Mums two favourite things were the tea-cups as she wanted to go on them when she was little and a boating trip. The teacups were better than the ones we went on in Malaysia but it still didn't have the whole wow-factor about it. After the tea-cups we went to a castle like building and started taking photos and then a worker also started taking photos of us and we had to different things like put our hands out of course if we wanted these we had to pay. Then a lady told us to go inside, so we did. Inside there were heaps of fences and at first it was cool, then it just got boring. It wasn't a maze or anything and we were the only people there so surely it can't
have been a queue for the ride and there were no shortcuts. After at least ten minutes of walking around these things we got to the end. It was a boating ride. Wow. We were both as mad as each other; we'd gone all that way for a boating ride? That sucks. But actually it was quite amazing on the boat. It took us around to different places while singing 'It's a Small World' the whole time (mum liked that). Everything was perfectly painted and everything. My favourite thing was an animation place. It had original picture from movies like the Incredibles and Toy Story. There was even a Zoetrope, it was awesome. For lunch we went to "The Corner Cafe" as it was Good Friday, every cafe had an Easter Menu, but most of them included bacon or something. We had fish and chips, I had the chips, and mum had the fish.
(Kate) One of the last things we did was go and watch a 3D movie – it was fantastic. It contained Mickey and Donald Duck as well as other Disney characters like Ariel, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Goofy and Samba. There is nothing better than watching
plates being thrown at my head!!
By the time we left it was raining quite hard so it was a run to the train – quite a distance when it's so wet. Trains back to the hotel and went to see Andy and the girls.
Had Chinese food from the noodle shop down the road (same place as last night) but with a vegetarian flavour this time. Went to the night market, wandered around then caught a taxi back to the hotel.
