The weeks have flown by and it's time for a well-earned break. We worked all the previous weekend, so as to have 7 consecutive days off. One of the garden areas surrounding several old residences of important persons of old.They really knew how to relax!

History recorded on wood. Each one is one page of a volume of a carved book. This is in the library of Liu Chengy in one section of Nanxun. This important official spent lots of his own money to buy these old carved books, so as to create a significant collection of early historical records.

Cormorants are still used by local fishermen to assist in their night catch. I get the feeling that these birds are more for tourist photo opportunities!

WOW! I have finally caught up with all your blogs - and wonder why it was August before May reached me - and no more since! Hope you are ok? Anyway - absolutely fascinating stuff! YOu certainly are having a wonderful experience. Only thing I can top you on is that I managed to get to see the Rolling Stones - in London - TWICE! Off to Istanbul at the weekend, then it is On On to Chang Mai - look forward to seeing you there. xx
