Eighty Days Around the World

Our route so far ...

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9.6

The "Star in the East" has certainly taken on a new meaning for us this Christmas. It will be a different kind of Christmas but very memorable for sure. We have not escaped completely from all the commercialism and build-up as the Chinese do not miss an opportunity to put up decorations - no matter what the festival! There are santas in all shapes and forms everywhere and they even play Christmas carols translated into Chinese in all the shopping malls! Let us hope that the True meaning comes to be known.

Thanks for following us up until now and sending all your messages. We are a bit behind on our blogging and also have had difficulty posting photos on the Chinese computers however stick with us as there are some good snaps to follow soon.

We have been in Dalian, visiting our friends Leilei and Ma, whom we met at St. Andrews. We went to Xian and saw the famous Terracotta Warriors as well as getting to pamper some pandas at a Rescue Centre (Amazing experience!). Now we are in Hangzhou south of Shanghai taking in the beautiful lake and garden scenery. We will be in Shanghai for Christmas with Yemei (Ryan) also from St. Andrews.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas
Glad to hear your views on China. Bejing train station on the previous blog, sounds like a husslers paradise! I read in the news yesterday that China has overtaken UK as 4th largest economy, Germany is next of course to be surpassed.
