We ended up getting lost and biking all the way up a steep incline (on one speed bikes) to a temple. Cool, and the way down to Baisha was breezy and fun.

worth the dangerous hike to the gorge!
Your description of people watching in Lijaing is good! If it is true that "the photos don't due justice" then you two must have seen unbelievable sights, because your photos are exceptional. I rated some. Thanks for taking us to the gorge.
