stoned again!!!!!

After another train wreck - 36 hours on triple bed bunk with 2 screaming babies with split pants!!!....dont ask.....almost drove lou to smoking!! we arrived in kunming in the yunnan province our "free" pick up to the hostel was somebody coming to meet us from the hostel to make sure we got on the right bus! we made it ok to the hump hostel and no its not what you think😉...and they very kindly renovated our room for us although we were intoxicated by the all the paint smells and general city pollution.

We were staying right centre of kunming which meant we had 24 hr access to macdonalds and kfc!! Kunming is famous for its green lake park, stone forest and across the bridge rice noodles! The first we visited the lake and it really is green!! This is where all the cool people hang out, sing kareoke and opera, dance, keep fit and play games and take boat rides - lots of free entertainment it made hyde park look rubbish.

Day 2 we took a day trip to the stone forest with our new friend Jen from Manchester who we met that morning at breakfast....a stone forest is exactly as it sounds a big national park with lots of rocks stones sticking out of it. It was very picturesque though and we managed to get off the beaten track and take the scenic route which took us out into the middle of nowhere....we saw the wife waiting for her husband rock, the mother searching for her child rock and finally the eternal mushroom rock.....and some more rocks!!! After 3 hours of looking at millions of stones we decided it was time to leave and grabbed an ice cream on the way out and headed back to the concrete jungle..kunming to chill out in our hostel before our next 20 plus hours bus journey to Luang Prabang, Laos
