Hi all this week we took a long and hard drive up to the north of Xinjiang (look at the map). it is a very unique area in the boarder of china, Russia and Mongolia because it is the only place in China that have a Siberian taiga Eco-system. . the park is not so new but the tourist infrastructure is all from the past year. it is mainly built for Chinese tourists and we saw no Western people for th... the food in Xinjiang province is very good and we are enjoyingvery much he you see a local meal we had - sheep shish kabab, pilaf rice with sheep, grilled fish, bread on the gril with sheep fat and tea. EXCELLENT!

the local noodles are made of wheat so they are basicaly spagetties. Actually it is said that MArko Polo saw these and brought them to Italy and that is how spagetti was "invented". here we eat them with lamb, peepers and onion

every morning we drink a kids drink we call "AKTIMEL". On it there is a small picture of a stomach so we decided (unilatiraly) that this is good for our digestive system. Yaron cannot stand it

Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang. large cities (this one is 1.5million) always have large supermarkets that have everything. still is it supprizing to fine sea fish because Urumqi is the city which is farthest away from the sea in the world 2250km

I especialy liked the girls on the rock! too bad you put the deset pictures first. Lake Kanas is the highlight.
