Dignitaries from SPPH and Dr. Skuta at the opening session of the 10th Anniversary celebration of the SPPH-DMEI partnership.
May 28, 2012 (Chengdu)
Monday afternoon was a formal ceremony celebrating the tenth anniversary. It was held in the impressive conference center at SPPH. It included dignitaries from SPPH and the Sichuan Health Bureau. In Chinese tradition many dignitaries from both sides spoke with responses from Dr. Skuta and Dr. Farris on behalf of DMEI. Following the formalities, Dr. Skuta, Anderson, Farris and Yun Le presented overviews of DMEI, its research and some specific projects we were working on. Drs. Skuta, Anderson and Farris were presented with honorary professorships and Dr. Skuta presented a glass vase to Dr. Fan. Following the ceremonies, Dr. Farris was mobbed by the press - I'm sure "numbah won docktah" has his photo is in 100 million homes in China this week! 😊
