Hello Followers,

So this morning we had our first lay in for 3 weeks, yes we were awake at 0730 lol but could stay in bed for another 2 hours lol, We had planned an easy day for the first time, which was well received by both of us.

First we got breakfast from a food cart on the street, Vick had three pastries and I had a bacon cheese pesto thing, they were all throughly amazing and were wolfed down quickly. Our plan was to head to the Bund, this is the business district area where all the posh hotels are based (Vick yes I will mention you stayed in the Grand hyatt as did your dad and yes it is impressive). The area is more like an American city than a Chinese one, still it is impressive to see (not as impressive as Beijing's old buildings), although there is not much to see in the Bund apart from the impressive Pearl tower, a TV transmitter, which hosts a museum and other things (EXPENSIVE).

Once we had a couple of hours walking around, we headed back to east Nanjing Road (shopping district) to have a look around, as we are poor travellers we couldn't buy anything apart from some maple pork jerky, which was amazing and has now turned Vick to it (makes me happy love jerky). We headed back to the hostel to sort out some stuff, relax and watch a spooks (laptop has been a saviour so far, can only read so much everyday).

So after a few hours Vick kept going on about my hair needing cutting and that £8 at the hairdressers was too much (for China), so I said 'you do it', this could have been my biggest mistake ever!!! There are before and after pics on here but all I can say is don't quit your day job (wait she doesn't have one now!!!), I now have tram lines and bald patches...not a good look!!! 😞

Good news though is our bags are so much lighter now all the winter clothes are thrown away and all the food for the trains have gone, going to make things so much easier now!!! 😊

So after a few beers relaxing we headed out for dinner, we found an nice local restaurant called Kirkwood, a Korean place and had a really good dinner accompanied with freshly squeezed orange and carrot juice (Vick was in heaven) all for £3.80 each.

We then headed back to the hostel and watched a film before bed.

All in all a nice quiet, easy day which was well needed for us. Love N&V X
