Hi All,

What a trip! Again 6 1/2 hours but what a view from the bus. On the plateau, with the most beautiful blue sky, it felt like we could almost touch the clouds. Really stunning. The scenery was a bit more varied today. After passing through the oil fields of HuaTuGou the road snaked its way for miles through a barren wilderness. Now and again we'd come across shepherds living in yurts and at one toilet stop there were even camels.

We did have a little trouble finding a hotel that would accept foreigners, being close to Tibet doesn't help matters, but we did find the Golmud Mansions was the most reasonably priced. The other hotels asked for 550 and 1100 rmb a night.

Just going to relax this evening and we'll venture out into the city tomorrow.

Enjoy the photos

Jah Bless
