This morning we had our Chinese Language exam and we were bricking it! In the end it went well and I even managed to scribble down some characters to get some extra marks from Laoshi Du Fung.
In the afternoon we had a debrief with the teachers and students, where we gave some feedback. When it was my turn to speak I discussed how it was a bit disorganised when we arrived and a bit of a "kafuffle". I don't remember saying it but am sure they had no idea what I was on about.... The Chinese students said a few words. Anders and I got the most comments about our crazy nature, glad I left an impact on them! They especially mentioned how much fun they had at karaoke with us and how they had never danced that crazily before!! Glad we could have a...positive impact...
For dinner we ate with Hongbo, Ing was ill. I sat with the man himself and we had a few beers. Afterwards we returned to the beer fest and Hongbo insisted that I try a bit of every food, so went on to buy lots for me! I drew the line at
the fried 10 day old chick but max and Matt had one each, bones and all!
We revisited the Tuborg tent where a lovely Tuborg girl got us a table. I lost sight of the guys for a bit so ask someone "where are the white guys at?" it work! Me and James then were bursting for the toilet so ran across the festival. Whilst at the urinal a remember thinking that it was good they were sat in the tent so we would be able to find them but then had a weird feeling they would get kicked out! Strangely enough when we got back they had been, for not spending enough money! We then ran into Calebs new girlfriend, a 17 year old student who he had met that day. But after a while her mum took her away! Are we that bad an influence...
Again things got a bit crazy and out of hand, after hearing about a downing contest on the main stage I told everyone I was getting in on it! I waltzed up to the stage, shirt open and white hairy chest out. The guy immediately spotted me, gave me a beer
and pulled me up! Following my lead max, Matt, Jess, G and Katy joined me and we all had to down our beers.....I then went and grabbed my other beer off the floor and was made to do that one as well! Didn't feel too good after that.....
We then headed off to a Korean beer tent where a band was playing YMCA. I ran in doing the actions and bouncing along and the Chinese people at the back loved me! I got up on a table and danced it out, the others joining me. We then went down the front of the stage where James and I danced infront of the band who were loving it. By this point I was drenched in sweat so took off my shirt. The lead singer then came down and we did the conga around the tent!
At 11 the festival closed so we headed to JDs Bar. It was pretty quiet so me and James danced around on the stage. Then something happened..... I was swinging round the pole and jumped to the floor. Then to get back on the stage I did a two foot jump up, sending 90kg
of British Beef straight into a panel of the glass stage, which rather easily smashed.
Suddenly I was grabbed from two sides and taken into a back room. I thought I was in for a beating as loads of security with "police" on their shirts kept walking in and looking at me. An Indian guy who spoke English came to me and send that I had deliberately stamped one footed on the stage, I denied it and asked for Hongbo to come and translate.
When he came in there was a lot more conversation in Chinese which wasnt worth translating then I insisted on seeing the video. Me dancing around was a sobering experience....then they showed me my jump which was, as I had claimed, a simple two footed jump! I then had a conversation with the female manager, through Hongbo, she said I would have to pay 300rmb which I refused as i had done nothing wrong. She then said she would call the police, i took hongbo aside and asked him what would happen but the lady interrupted! She could speak english all the time! Effectively she had me by the short hairs so I paid
I wouldnt let this spoil my final night so we kept dancing until the wee hours!! I owe Hongbo big time!! In hindsight I was very lucky to get away with paying what I did, as the police could have revoked my visa.
