This young lady from the Art Department greatly impressed her male classmates with her powerful "puts". I was amused that for once one of the girls had an enthusiastic male fan club instead of the other way around!

The boys high jump event drew large crowds. Most of the competitors used the older scissor jump method and showed great leg power jumping over bars almost as tall as they were themselves!

One of my ex-students Ryan easily clears the bar. He had been hoping to win the event, but later was narrowly defeated in the final.

The local community is always interested in checking out whatever is going on at our college. These young ones were absolutely enthralled by the boys high jump event, enthusiastically yelling out "jaio you" meaning "come on"!

As a break from study and exams, the student union hosted a student cooking competition one gloomy looking Sunday morning. Here contestant number 1 prepares his dish Huangpo Fish

As well as aroma, taste and texture, careful attention is always paid to the visual appeal of Chinese dishes.

A number of students, this gentleman and I were asked to be judges. Each contestant brought their dish around the tables for tasting, nervously waiting for the verdicts. Several of them were as good as you could find in any restaurant! Impressive!

Delicious! The Cola Chicken Wings were my favourite, followed closely by the Huangpo fish from contestant 1 in an earlier photo.

Once it was obvious that there was no more food, students quickly abandoned the dining room , leaving their mess behind. Not even a thought for cleaning it up to help! I still can't get used to the mess many people make while eating!
