Puppy!!
He was soooo cute I seriously considered bringing him home! Ahh, I love the beach! I woke up a bit late this morning so Randy and I decided to go into town. We’d missed the bus so we decided to take a taxi. I asked the driver to take us shopping, or to town, something. He didn’t really understand what I was saying and showed me a map and pointed at something…Randy and I gave up trying to tell him where we wanted to go so we just agreed to wherever he pointed and away we went. It was nice drive along the oceanside but we were getting a little concerned that it looked like there was no civilization. Once we saw a little town ahead, and 40 RNB later we made the taxi driver stop and we got out and started walking around.
The first thing we noticed was a restricted military base. Ignorant as I am, I stopped to take a picture thinking it was pretty cool but then I started getting yelled at to keep moving…in Chinese (I understood the hand gestures) and Randy grabbed me and made me keep walking telling me that I wasn’t allowed to stop or take pictures of a military base.
I didn’t know that. Randy’s dad is in the military so he was explaining all this stuff to me that I never even knew about. Everything from what happens on base and what happens when you commit a crime of some kind, ect.
We continued this conversation as we found our way down to the beach were I picked up my flip flops and continued walking along the water. We noticed that all the tourists on the beach were white…I was a bit confused, why weren’t we staying over here with a bunch of other Americans? It look me a moment to notice all the guys in speedo’s and short spandex style shorts…these were clearly not Americans. After a few minutes of walking along the water we went up to the boardwalk to get something to drink. We quickly noticed that everything on the menu was written in Chinese, English, and Russian! Russian! That answered the language and the people we were seeing.
Undeterred, I got a coconut…literally…with the top chopped off and they shoved a straw in it. Mmmm, I love coconut milk. It was very different then what I was used to; it wasn’t as sweet
Man Thong!!
O.M.G. I am scared for life! as the coconuts from the states or even the Caribbean. Randy with his ice cream and me with my huge coconut we continued walking on the boardwalk.
Then I stopped dead in my tracks. I do not apologize for staring at this at all; I couldn’t help myself. There was a huge, fat guy laid out on a beach chair in a thong! Disgusting, but I still had to take a picture! Eyes burning we kept walking and then got a taxi back to the hotel.
Back at the hotel we joined everyone for lunch at the pool. I was to hot to eat so I jumped in the pool with the girls. Within a few minutes, the cabana boy came over to take our drink orders…oh how I love being waited on! Being that I am on vacation and in a Caribbean type island, I decided to indulge on my favorite beach drink in the world, a pina colada! Mmmm. Good times.
Exhausted from being at the beach and pool all day, I went back up to my room and took a nap till Fei came in around 5:30pm to get my butt out of bed
Coconut drink
Mmmmmm. Better then the ones in the Caribbean and pre-game for dinner. Everyone was next door in Bret and Rob’s room cuz they opened their own little bar. They’d gone into town earlier in the day and bought a bunch of beer, hard liquor and juice and had ice bucks all lined up behind the desk. Bret played bartender charging everyone for the drinks he was making. I still had half my bottle of Malibu left over from one of the last clubs we went to so I walk in, bottle in hand, and pre-gamed my way. Mmmm.
Slightly intoxicated, actually everyone was pretty drunk; we went down to a buffet dinner poolide full of the most amazing foods in the world. Seafood, meats, fruits, veggies, everything cooked African style. It was after all an African hotel and everything was done in zebra stripes! We got free beer with dinner so everyone abused that privilege and dinner with ASU turned into a wild party and the other guests were just laughing at us and enjoying their own dinners.
People were getting thrown into the pool fully clothed, beer splashed all over each other, an intense beer fight that was quickly ended by the hotel staff and
Bret, Me Jason and Rob
What the hell are they wearing?!! much more. We had a karaoke room reserved for 9:30 so I decided to go up to the room and relax for a bit.
When I went down for karaoke I got some bad news. Jason was on the way to the hospital! He was pretty drunk and dinner and could barely sit in his chair as it was so I figured he’d just fallen but no. Jason dove into the pool and didn’t come up. Everyone though the was just joking around when he was just floating there and instantly, a bunch of people dove into the pool to get him. He hit his head on the bottom and it knocked him unconscious! Scary! Everyone got him out of the pool and his head was bleeding and Fei convinced him that he had to go to the hospital.
Everyone was a little moppy at karaoke scared for Jason but that didn’t stop some people; mainly Bret’s drunk ass. He pretty much had his hand glued to the mic the entire time and was saying some inappropriate things between the lyrics. It was great! That was pretty much the only entertainment that I got. After an hour or
Drinks in the pool
The one thing the pool had over the beach was we had our drinks brought to us while in the pool! so me and some of the girls went back up to my room and we watched Sex and the City on my laptop since I bought all the seasons.
Over a few episodes, the girls drifted back to their room to bed and once everyone left, I turned off my laptop and curled up under the covers. Not even a minute later, I heard a knock on the door. Fei had lost to her key and she was coming back with Jake, Sean and John. No more sleeping for me. They were all still drunk, I was soberish, so we all ended up talking, tickling and being just plan out obnoxious for the next hour. What happened after that is history. Nite!
