Am 21. März ging es auf nach Yangshuo, mein liebgewonnener Touristen- und Ausflugsort in der Nachbarschaft. Gegen diese saftigen Karstberge war Guilin nichts. Mittendrin ist dann auch noch das Städtchen. Und ein äußerst angenehmes Hotel hatten wir auch noch. Geplant war eigentlich auch noch eine Bootsfahrt auf dem Li-Fluss, doch wegen Regen haben wir uns dagegen entschieden. Und ehrlich gesagt sind diese Touristen-fressenden Fahrten viel zu teuer und führen einen wahrscheinlich nur zu den Geschäften der Verwandten. Weshalb es wahrscheinlich gar nicht so eine schlechte Idee war das zu lassen. Und so haben wir einen Bus genommen, der auch ruckzuck abfahrtsbereit war und losgetuckert ist. Über die Autobahn in Richtung Yangshuo. Die war aber eher bedürftig, was aber wohl den Sanierungsarbeiten anzulasten ist. The low cloud is chased away, lingering wraiths in the gullies and ravines. There are advantages to the wet; waterfalls mist, trickle and cascade making Spring growth brighter, greener. The traditional wooden stilt buildings perch over the river, their newly fir clad exteriors gleaming gold. The bamboo scaffolding nearly meets across the narrow road leading up to more villages. At the base of Dhazai we change buses and master a muddy track slithering and sliding across the yellow ruts. We arrive at another car park under construction. We make our way down a concrete road slick with running water down into a village. When they thought of this road did they think of the flooding it would cause in really heavy rains? China is full of progress. Mostly this means new concrete buildings, concrete roads and large cars. We are fortunate to find ourselves in Yangshou County, Guangxi province in the small village of Chaolong where we are volunteering at Zhou Yue English college where although concrete hotels abound there are some tastefully renovated mud brick houses which hold in the heat and keep cool in Summer. Not so the concrete, uninsulated, single skin brick or concrete monstrosities popping up all along the Yulong valley. ‘When I came here 15 years ago there were only a handful of hotels along the whole Yulong valley. Ich möchte das jetzt endlich abschließen und das auch vorrangig für mich selbst tun. Sollte manch ein Eintrag mal etwas Zeit brauchen, dann möchte ich mir einfach etwas mehr Zeit nehmen, um diese Episode auch ausreichend zu würdigen. Es ist auch nicht wichtig ob es irgendjemand liest, wobei es natürlich schön ist, sollte jemand Gefallen daran finden. Es geht an dieser Stelle weiter mit dem Besuch meiner Eltern. Der erste komplette Tag zusammen in China war vorbei und am 20. März war ein Ausflug geplant, doch alles dazu könnt ihr jetzt lesen. Schon die Hinfahrt zu den Longji-Reisterrassen bei Guilin wurde leider erschwert, weil ich mich auf den Geschäftsinstinkt der Chinesen verlassen habe. Ces deux derniers jours, on a vécu des montagnes russes d’émotions! On trippe sur les paysages et les activités qu’on fait ici, mais maudit qu’on déteste l’ambiance générale axée sur le tourisme. Nous autres, on s’en sacre d’habitude que ce soit touristique. Ex à Santorini, en Grèce, c’était hyper touristique, bondé de monde, avec des serveurs qui essaient de t’attirer dans leur restaurant et des psychopathes à kodak partout. C’est la même chose dans certains quartiers de Paris, et à Barcelone, à New York, un peu partout, bref! Mais ici, le problème, c’est qu’on se sent comme des machines à cash et on a l’impression que les Chinois d’ici, ceux qui vivent du tourisme, sont tous arrangés ensemble pour nous vendre le plus possible, profiter de nous et nous donner les mauvaises infos.
