Today is our final full day at sea, from Xiamen to Shanghai, it is only 250 Nautical miles so it feels like we are not going as fast as before. The weather has really changed, quite cold here and we have rain now, foggy too or might be a sea mist. Time for breakfast again, today we sat with a couple from Scotland, always interesting to chat with people from different countries.
Activities today include bingo and this is our first time at bingo on the ship so once rules were explained, the game went on. We were marking off numbers and was getting close to having 2 numbers left on our card, when you get 1 number left, you have to sand up, so it was starting to get exciting. Someone started to stand, then another one and just when we got another number meaning we could stand, someone said Bingo, so our game over and the prize was US$500, would have been great to win, lucky lady who won!
Next we had a wander through the promenade stopping to talk to people along the way, found out there was a last day Internet special is $25US but
with having no communications with Melanie and Nikki since Hong Kong, I thought it was worth it to find out what was happening at home. Loads of emails, messages Facebook notifications, and uploading the Travelpod emails etc, so much to do. This took a while to do so once all checked and dealt with, we wandered around the ship, found another restaurant we hadn't seen before, Johnnie Rockets which is an American hamburger place, this is a restaurant you have to pay for so we decided to go to the windjammer cafe where we could choose what we wanted.
After lunch, we didn't do much, finally got to laze around ( on day 8 !!!!) there was a seminar on "learn how to detox at home!!!!" Yeah I thought that was funny too!! But it was a skincare product!!, I can see Jenny Craig coming up when we get home!!
We had time in the afternoon to start packing our bags and when you've been to 3 different cities, a bit of shopping here, a bit of shopping there, the bag is beginning to be a bit fatter and heavier, but soon we'll be probably adding more to it once we
hit Shanghai!! More communications with the girls and before you know it, once again it is time to eat, all I feel like I'm doing is writing about us eating, we do lots of other things in between but food is always there, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner in many different restaurants, and then supper, midnight Hot Pot, and midnight snacks. And I forgot there is also the hot dogs and the ice cream too, see what I mean, way too much food on the ship!!
We got our bill checked, we had 4 lots of different items charged to our room that were not ours so we queried these and these were credited, lucky we checked. With bill sorted out, there was a final Farewell Production show which was starting at 8.45pm so once dinner was over, we met at the bar before going to see this show. I think we are sick of drinking but, you pace yourself, we are never drunk, just relaxing!! The show was ok and at the end, there was many of the staff involved with the finale, can't believe our time is up on the ship, now to start planning next trip!
Early
night for us, 12.30am, as we were to be up at 6.00am, haven't slept in once since being away, but we never sleep in on holidays anyway, always too much to see and do!!
