We had a right laugh last night in our room. We decided to do some item swapping! Before the trip stated we agreed to bring an item that represented our home town. I got Zoe's gift from Margate- a linen bag, a stick of rock and some postcards. Zoe got my Hull College polo shirt. Rob got Laura's Mhaigheo man, and she got Rob's Nun game!!! It was very funny at the time; it was one of his situations were..... You just had to be there to know how funny it was! Jason couldn't find his 'pebble' from Brixham, then Josh got out his musical Justin Beber toothbrush. Both Josh's and Rob's gifts bore no resemblance to their city of Hemel Hempstead, but that mad the whole thing even funnier! We ended up with a room full of people wanting to know what was so funny, but by then we were all in stitches, not really knowing why! I think my contagious laugh may have had something to do with it! This morning we were up and sorted and on the coach by 6.30. We arrived at the train station in good time for the 8am train. It was so disappointing
to to d that the company had booked us standing room for an 8hr journey on the bullet train! The guide Jessie changed the tickets to the later train do that we could sit down! I was annoyed about the because the majority of the group chose not to go out because of the early morning. So we missed the opportunity of a last night in Shanghai in order to be ready n the morning, then because we are now getting the train nearly 3 hours later, we will not have time when we arrive to do anything as it will be so much later than originally expected! There has been a change in plans, as we expected to be going to Xianamen, but we still have not be told what they are! The temp is current toy 45.2 degrees! The train is travelling at 236km ph. What a shit day! We were in that bloody train for ten hours! The reason we were put on the later train was because the company had booked is standing tickets Can you imagine...... Ten hours.... And because they have changed the itinerary ..... And not told us what we are doing, or
where we are going! I am not a happy nubby at this point! We arrived at our next destination at about 11pm. That was from getting up at 5.30am! It's dark so it is hard to tell, but it does look really interesting. It is a UNESCO world heritage sight. It is a round house. It is a huge circular building with about 5 floors. It is made of mud and wood. It has about 15 rooms per floor that all face into the middle. Then the middle area is like a community outside living area, It's like a community housing estate in a circle! I am sharing with Laura, thank goodness, at least I get to have a normal conversation and some sanity! We'll see what tomorrow brings! It will be interesting to we the area in day light.
